I got pretty bad sunburn about 3 weeks ago. It went away for the most part in about a week. I was left with a pretty nice tan (which I got after I peeled really bad).
I put some aloe vera on it a couple times after my shower. About 5 days after my burn I started to peel really bad. It was pretty gross, and the peeling lasted for at least a week.
Theres not much you can do... it WILL hurt. If you tan after you burn then you will be left with a nice tan that should last a while. I still have mine although it is starting to fade.
Good luck!

I burned myself so bad on my honeymoon (wearing a little bikini), I had to go to a doctor. He recommended Nivea Cream or Lotion in that dark blue jar and lots of it, plus trying to get by without wearing a bra, because of the straps cutting into my skin. He said to apply it every 4 hours or whenever the skin started to tighten up. It worked pretty good. Thank Heavens I have a sweet and understanding husband. He didn't mind helping with the cream.
I was afraid of using the aloe vera like the others suggested, because I didn't want to peel my back off of a piece of furniture should I forget and lean back.

Drink a LOT of water for the next couple of days. Use aloe vera on the tender spots as many times a day as you need. You'll also feel better after a cool bath with oatmeal in it (also good for chicken pox or other uncomfortable skin conditions). Also, wear loose clothing. And don't let it happen again!!!

Aloe.....and I mean the natural aloe. Most grocery stores carry it...if not try a health food store. Cut the outer skin off one side and refrigerate. After about 30 minutes... rub the sticky side on the burn. It is cold at first....but feels sooooo good in the long run. If you can't find aloe leaves...use a sunburn product that contains aloe.

ok, first of course aloe vera, i'm sure everyone is telling you this. also try taking some iburfeon on tylenol. cool baths are great ( showers just beat down on it and make the pain sting worse). I also found that CLINIQUE's after sun product ( I am not sure what it is exactly called ) is execellent. It is about $20 but it works wonders. It has aloe vera and a bunch of other soothing ingrediants.

Go to a health food store and get aloe vera juice and pure lavender essential oil (not the perfume crap). Also get one of those little spray bottle things...most stores (grocery/pharmacy/etc) have them in the travel area. Add about 4 oz of aloe vera jucie and 20 drops of lavender oil. Refrigerate and spray on as needed. Keeping it in the refrigerator gives you that extra soothing cool experience, the aloe heals the burn, and the lavender helps prevent scar tissue, as well as being an antiseptic and antibacterial agent.

Hi,,, ok,,, this may sound bad,, but it will help some,,, take the hottest shower you can.. for some reason it pulls out the heat from your burn...
Next use a lotion with Aloe in it,,, it relieves the pain also..
If it gets too unbearable,, go to the emergency room,,, they have creams and ointments that may can help more than over the counter stuff.....
good luck.......

white vinegar. the white vinegar draws the heat out from the burn. 25% white vinegar to 75% cool/cold water. you can take a wash cloth put it in the mixture and lay on the affected area, it should feel good, if it stings take it off immediately, and see a doctor. when you first put it on it will feel cool, when it starts to feel hot again take the cloth off put it back into the mixture and reapply. continue as needed. it might take a while. also, when the water is no longer cool, empty out the mixture and make new. you will want to get some aloe vera it will help cool the burn.

One way is to put aloe vera cream/lotion on it..make sure label says pure. If you are in too much pain you may consider seeing a doc. My girl friend had a really bad burn and hurt her for 24 hrs and she said there did not seem to be any relief when she used what they suggested. She went in only to find that she had 2nd degree burns. I don't want to scare you, but really if there is no relief on over the counter meds you may want your burn checked.
Good luck.
