I was painting the front door whilst it was off its hinges and then when it got put back on, we went to close the door and it caught on the floor and left a long mark across my carpet :0(
Help !!

you can either use turps or leave the paint to dry and use sandpaper or glass paper on it

Go to the local carpet cleaning store to get the right chemicals to neutralize the oil based paint. The chemicals will break down the oil and allow you to remove it safely Then steam clean. This way you won't damage the carpet fibers as much.

Check the product Goof Off. It's petroleum based, and works on many things. It can harm the bottom of the carpet, so if it works on the paint, you have to be careful not to saturate the carpet, too, or it can loosen fibers.

Wash it with warm sudsy water straightaway. If not then you are in trouble

you dont wash gloss off with water, gloss it not water based.
