Lebanon is an independent state and Israel has no right to occupy it permanently unless there is a valid ground for doing so under the rules of International Law such as unlawful aggression or invasion.

Tell you what. Search out the Isreal newspapers online, and talk to some guy that hangs out here who's from Isreal.

They will tell you that Bush told Isreal they may not govern their foriegn policy, he will. Then they will tell you he authorized weapons to countries there that werren't allowed to buy them.

The real question is, why is Bush not saying anything about it, and why is the UN offering nothing?

They are not planning to.
It's all going to be about the Air and Naval forces. After Hezbollah is destroyed, the Lebanese government will take over, as they have promised today.

No, nor have they any desire too. They have enough enemies on their borders as it is. Don't you think they've usurped enough land as it is? Mind you, they do have enough of a nuclear arsenal to destroy the planet so they could in theory if they wanted to. And if they did you know America would back them 100%.

No, because it is a white elephant that will sap them dry economically.

Maybe a couple of miles of Southern Lebanon 100% colonized with militant settlements? but that is very very provocative to their western friends.
