This is our first summer with dogs so we bought some organic fungicide but any fungicide should kill them or at least kill the ones you see and diminish their number until they are all finally killed.
Organic is a good idea around small children who play on the grass too.

Mushrooms are only helping things to decompose. Like maybe there was a tree there before and the roots are still underground. I actually like mushrooms and think they're cute. If it's an area that you have to water(like grass) then they will contunue. If it's an area without plants, make sure no water gets there.

Why? Mushrooms are good :)
If you want to get rid of the things you see on top of the soil, kick them up or spray with a mixture of 1 tsp baking soda to 1 quart water. This won't kill what's underneath the ground or the spores, but your yard will look mushroom-free.

Mushrooms feed on organic matter in the soil. It is impossible to get rid of them. Once your soil dries out the mushrooms will go away.
