My mom wont let me wear shoes with heals over 1/2 of an inch and sometimes less. She says they affect your knees, heals, and back. Is this true?

Well I wear very high heals every day, even in school. I'm fine. You just need to make sure that you walk in them right, and get ones that fit you right. It probably also depends on the person. I have scoliosis, and they don't hurt my back, but that could be because I have a high pain tolerance level. I think it is OK to wear heels over an inch, as long as you are sensible with it, even so... obey you parents.

Wearing high heels (not heals, heal = to recover from an injury or illness) can be bad for your back, hips, tendons in your legs and feet if you wear them too high or too often. The effects are worst for women who wear cheap ( badly designed) shoes with heels over 3 inches.

Heels under 2 inches once in awhile are not going to hurt you in any significant way.

Ask any podiatrist! Heels (if worn 6 to 8 hours a day) will affext, ankles, knees, hips. That is becasue it causes your center of gravity to change...it pitches your body forward, putting undue stress on joints. It also depends on how old you are. i was not allowed to wear heals until 17. Most young girls don't know how to walk in them. But, if you do, be sure they fit well...you're too young for bunions, callouses, etc. Good luck!

Yes, heels force your torso to tilt forward, which throws the hips and spine out of alignment. In general, your speed of walking also slows down and your muscles need to work harder to travel the same distance to help you stay stable. Also, as the heel hight goes up, so does the pressure on the ankle joint. The pressure on the ball of your foot increases and that also causes a lot of problems.

if you're constantly walking on high heels than yes. high heels tend to put a lot of pressure on your lower back, knees, and your calves. try not to let the heels go over 3 inches. normally, 2" heels are good enough to add height as well as making your legs appear longer/leaner.

Yes , not only do they put too much pressure on the toes and joints, you entire body alignment is out of sync. They are beautiful with clothes but dont wear them everyday.

Sure they do. Is any of it bad? Who's to say...for some yes, some no. You don't need to be in a rush anyway. Wait until you can decide for yourself then try.
