Yes, you could go blind. Or at least have poor vision.

I'm no optometrist, but inducing unessesary and abnormal amounts of stress on the muscles that control your eyes causes terrible pain and may cause your eyes not to respond properly.

Everything needs rest including your eyes. This is one reason why so many people in modern world need glasses.
