Use height to your advantage. Install shelves, use tall furniture like wall units and armoires.

Hide your storage. Put a large table cloth draping over coffee tables and side tables. Gives a new look and provides for additional storage.

Assign every item a "home area." If it doesn't have one or doesn't fit into the other zones, it either needs to go or to be put into storage like a closet.

Good housekeeping maintenance is a must. In a small space, even a little bit of clutter makes the whole place look messy.

Number one rule: keep the kitchen and the bathroom clean & clear. They're the worst place to gather clutter and make a mess. Keep those areas up and the rest of the place will be a snap.

shelving is a great idea - putting your stuff in decorated boxes on those shelves are not only a good way to keep them out of cluttered disarray, but is also a functional decorative staple. It helps you to keep things at hand and is functional at the same time.
Keep office items in a desk and shelves around the desk area - kitchen stuff in the kitchen, bathroom stuff in the bathroom and so on. Decorative baskets can be functional for lack of storage space - especially in a bathroom.
Organize your closet with closet organizers and think about the space bags for off season clothes that can go under the bed.
If an item is for organizing, use it. Magazine files, photo boxes, closet organizers, decorative boxes, file cabintets, shoe boxes and on from there. You can also go to HGTV website to find shows specially designed for organizing and get tips from there as well.
This should be fun and rewarding for you so HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!!

Be sure to use tall shelving to help yourself out. If your working
on a budget Home Depot has the type you put together, they can Go up the walls to 7 or 8 feet.
Make sure everything does more than one job. Any furniture should have storage space (under seats, under bed, etc.)

Rv sales stores have a table that is adjustable from coffee table
height, desk height to table height. It will seat 4. Many motor
homes have them. They are very useful in small spaces.

Why no longer take the door off? you are able to continuously replace the door with a lengthy curtain putting from a curtain rod. i'd purchase an dazzling curtain and rod, one with metal rivets so it is user-friendly to open and close. make certain the curtain hangs remote from the wall. In different words, get a sturdy good bracket that could want to carry the curtain 4 inches or so off the wall. That way, your outfits can carry with out touching the curtain. i'd also imagine vertically. you do not might want to apply the full metal rod, in case you do not choose it. save element of the closet and put in some shallow cabinets. you are able to stack shoes, handbags, scarves, sweaters, in spite of in this vertical storage unit.

Sure -

If you're just moving in? - don't move anything through the main door that you haven't used, or looked at, in the past year. . .

If you're already in? - toss out or give away anything that you haven't used, or looked at, in the past year. . .

This basic rule really, really, works - to keep clutter to a minimum.

Best wishes on organizing the rest - for friendly, homey energies. . .

The best thing that I can think of is to find furniture items that have more than one function such as a bed w/ the built in drawers underneath (that way you can eliminate a dresser!)
