I agree GSP to 287 Over the Tappan Zee and the onto 684 and 84 east works well
If GSP is too crowded go a little further west and take 287 North and the back over the TZB follow signs for White Plains & 684

This is not the most direct route, but it will avoid most of the NYC area traffic. Take the GSP north to the end. Follow the signs for I287W/I87N (NY State Thruway). Continue to follow I87N then merge onto NY-300 / UNION AVE via EXIT 17 toward I-84. Merge onto I-84 E toward BEACON. Follow I84 through CT to I90 (mass. Pike) and keep following signs to Boston.

Get to the coast and take a boat. There is no way around traffic where you are routing. Try leaving around 2:00 am Monday morning and run I287 north to the I95 north of NY. Should be reasonably quite at that time.
