I was wondering what the emissions are like on different motorcycles and how they compare to cars emissions as well.

The exhaust pollutes the air. Get a motor-less bicycle.

Except for flat out race bikes there isnt a single motorcycle made that gets 12mpg or less and considers it 'economical' (and most drag race bikes only run for 30~60sec on entire weekend) Almost all bikes , no matter how hard they are ridden will get well over 30mpg, small engines up to 220 mpg (but they dont go very fast-40~45mph) reasonable fuel consumption for most bikes is in the 40~80 mpg range. If you use less fuel you put out less pollution.
Also, bikes take up less space so you wouldnt need to build any more 12 lane highways and huge parking lots
Therefore, I'd say motorcycles are good for environment

Motorcycles actually produce more pollution than cars as relation to their size. They don't have emission controls. The number and size of cylinders depends on the amount of emissions

The motorcycle's smaller engine size and better mileage is more than offset by the lack of emissions equipment (catalytic converter, etc) that cars carry. Your motorcycle will pollute more than a modern car. Sucks, don't it?

a motorcycle exhausts the same emissions as a car. The only difference if how much of it. It does not take as much fuel to get you to your destination as a car does. You do have to drive very sensibly, though, or your MPG will really drop.

The emissions are much lower for motorcycles than a car or truck. Plus they get a better gas mileage. Ours only takes $3.50 to fill up and gets us pretty far...

actually bikes do have emissions controls. California bike are required to be fitted with catalytic converters. Most 49 state model bike have a system to burn off excess in the exhaust... This precedure is why you hear more popping with aftermarket system. that popping is due to the burning off of extra carbon. The gas mileage hels too. I'm getting around 45 to the galln right now

They're the same as cars. If you have a new one and you keep it tuned and drive it sensibly, avoiding jack-rabbit starts which pour carbon in the air, they're cleaner than an old one that needs a tuneup or overhaul. But they're just like cars that way. Although, come to think of it, I don't know about any "emission control" devices they might have, so I'm limited in my knowledge that way. God Bless you.

the pollute a lot less than car/trucks because of smaller engines. and yes they are great for the eviroment. they also keep people mentally sane and fit. have you ever seen a motorcycle parked in front of a psychiatrist office? no. they dont need to. i think if more people rode the world would be a better place.
