I'm a Libertarian, does that count? No they will not. They would think the U.S. is being weak and just attack us more. The only solution is to fight them

There have been terrorists since the dawn of civilization. They use to be called bandits and barbarians, then just criminals. Terrorist is such a better word, through, because it evokes such an emotional response in people. Makes them much easier to manipulate.

There have always been terrorists and there will always be terrorists. Fighting a "war on terror" isn't going to change anything. Just like the "war on drugs" hasn't had any significant impact on drug usage in the US.

It's pretty interesting actually. Back in the mid 1800s, when drugs were legal, there was very little drug usage. Then, as more laws got passed regulating drugs, drug usage increased. More than 10% of all arrests and about 20% of all prison sentences involve drug law violations. So, you can see how well the war on drugs has been working.

Attacking foreign countries isn't the answer. There will always be other countries who hate us, because in the history of the world, some country or another has always been at war. And the more powerful the nation, the more frequently it is at war.

There have always been terrorists and there will always be terrorists. But locking people up without trials, torturing them, ignoring constitutional protections, and doing it all in the name of national security doesn't give us a victory.

All it does it put us on even footing with every other tyranny that has imprisoned people simply for disagreeing with the government, before they ever committed any crime.

First of all, I AM NOT a liberal. Terriorists have been fighting since Abrahams day....and it will continue(KJV). NOOOOOOO THEY WILL NOT STOP. So, you say if the USA ceases and dissist, what do you think the US has done for years now? We are so vulnerable because we are soooooooo afraid of hurting someone....we have to be political correct. It's a shame we donot assert the authority anymore. We have shown the world who can be the best...now we are just to laid back with the rest of the world, no wonder we were attacked on 9/11.They deserve better than what the country is doing for them.

I am not in favor of ceasing the war on terror. I AM for ceasing the needless killing in Iraq. Despite the howling going on about it there IS a difference.

Besides, I'm all for taking those guys out of the middle east, dropping them along the 38th parallel and finishing a job another Republican president failed to finish.

The US has created more terrorists since we started the war on terror. If I was in charge, I would close our borders, and enforce security on our homeland. Tell me how having troops in Iraq, (a country that did not have al-Qaeda prior to 9-11), helps protect our country from terrorists.

I'm not liberal or conservative. I even took a test. I'm a true moderate. You can view my results in my blog.

To answer your question, the US would have to completely withdraw, not just from Iraq/Iran/whatever, but also from the entire Middle East. Not get involved with Israel or the Arab world at all and let them work it out for themselves. Otherwise, the war will still be ongoing. The US will still be behind Israel, and the Arab world will still take it out on civilians.
