Sounds like sciatica, named after the sciatic nerve. I have it, too, from a m'cycle crash. It tends to recur. If I were you I'd go to see the doctor.
In the meantime, here's what I do when it flares up: I stand at the side of my bed facing away from it, and sit back carefully on the bed. Keeping my back straight, I lie back so that I'm lying flat on the bed, with my lower legs vertical. You want to keep your knees and feet supported, NOT hanging. Knees are just at the edge of the bed, so that your calves are resting against the side of the bed; and feet are on the floor. (You may need to put a pillow or something under your feet to support them.) This position gives me relief.
Also, and no, I'm not joking, I pray. Believe me, it really works! I asked Jesus to take away my pain, concentrating on Him, and within seconds I felt it ebbing away until it was gone. I cherish the sciatica now, even with all its pain, because I had a dramatic proof of Jesus' presence and power that day.
Blessings to you!

Hi,
Sciatica is a pain that results from irritation of one of sciatic nerves. This is a lower back pain that goes down to hip and then to both legs extending to feet and toes in some cases. Sciatica nerve is the largest nerve in our body. Running down the spine through the hip, sciatic nerve goes down to knee and ankle. Any damage or pressure on this nerve results in debilitating sciatica pain that needs thorough investigation of probable causes on the basis of symptoms to provide relief to the patient on a permanent basis.

Normally I would give you my best advice, because don't like doctors and stay away from them when I can. But this is one where the wrong advice could do a great deal of harm. You need a professional opinion, and you need it soon. When I was working for liability attorneys, this was the kind of thing malpractice suits were built on. Seriously; go to a real doctor and do it soon.

Go see a doctor. Is it making your leg feel numb? My mom had that problem 8 years ago and it came back this year only worse and in both legs and she ended up having 3 bulging discs and had back surgery a couple months ago. Seriously you need to get it checked out.

its a sciatic nerve that you have damaged. I got that after a car accident. awful pain huh? i got vioxx for it but alas they pulled it off the market i would go to a Dr and see what he can prescribe to get the pain to subside and then see a physical therapist. if your into acupuncture or a chiropractor go for it but i personally don't like either hope this helps.

You need to get that nerve out of your pinched area so keep moving. You might try walking in a pool. Try ice and ibuprofen.

Good luck!

See a chiropractor. He will take x-rays to be sure that is the problem and then he'll get started right away to reposition your spine to relieve the pain.
