Both are equally good. I guess whole earth should be considered as equal.Can you say confidently that u live in west? I don't think.
Earth is spherical and all this east and west is man made.By the way, according to your sign convention, I am from east(India).

Too much to ask. But will answer one question. East v West! I live in the West and loath and like many things about it. Equally about the East. There is no country, continent or culture superior than the other.
