In a realtionship or marriage, in which both couples are physically able to engage in sexual intercourse, how important is that to keeping the relationship happy and going well?

Sex is a nice piece of the relationship package, but if sex is the only thing that keeps the relationship happy and going well, then that's a problem.

It's fun, don't get me wrong, but in my opinion sex shouldn't be the focus of a relationship, married or not. To me, sex is a bonus - the "icing on the cake," cuz in all honesty, the relationship itself becomes more important the older you get.

Sex is very important in a relationship, but it's only one facet. There are many other things that are vital to a healthy, happy marriage too.

Relationships go through cycles. Unless there's an underlying problem, a loving, nurturing relationship will lead you to wonderful, loving sex.

It is quite important, especially for the first 25 or 30 years but as you get older sometimes health problems shut down the sex and a hug becomes, "Oh so important".
