Well, it depends on the company, daily workload and if you're doing just numeric (10-key),alpha-numeric or just alpha.
Alpha, the minimum is 50+ wpm. Numeric (10-key) the minimum is usually around 8-10,000 kph. Most employment ads will disclose the skills needed for the job.

My co-workers and I enter W-4 information for a federal child support program and use alpha-numeric keyboarding skills. We also key Employer Quarterly Wage reports which requires the 10-key pad only.

Find a good typing program with both alpha and numeric testing. And just keep practicing!
