A mixture of 50% Borax and 50% icing sugar will get rid of ants. put the mix in a shallow dish, put the dish where the ants are running. The ants take the mix back to the nest where it is eaten and voila no more ants.

Soapy water kills sugar ants inmediately. A small drop of Terro ant killer (a clear gel like Purell hand sanitizer) can be applied in different spots of your kitchen. Ants will carry it to other ants in the colony killing them. You can find this product in Wal Mart and Home Depot.

I just received an email that claims that dryer sheets will discourage ants. Place them around the house near areas that you think ants are using to get in.

Put some white vinegar in a spray bottle, and squirt it around where the ants are. Also spray along their trails.
The vinegar is acidic, and somehow that screws with how the ants find their way, and they don't like it.

The location you have the ants may not work for
this but, some time ago I used
talcum (sp) powder in their trail.
Breathing it in apparently smothered them.
I've never had any since. I know it sounds
crazy but it worked for my Mother in law and I.
