I really respected this movie. I liked how it gave you answers that you needed about it and how tough it was to go through that. The people were so emotional...It was like living in a mad house. People knew what was coming up so they did what ever they could to save themselves..even if that means killing another. It makes understand how precious life is.

The special affects were spectacular, and I credit James Cameron for the historic accuracy of the event. The actors even closely resembled the real people they were portraying. Those that were portraying real people, anyway (Captain EJ Smith, "the unsinkable" Molly Brown, J. Bruce Ismay, Thomas Andrews)
Having said that, isn't the historic event itself compelling enough without injecting a fictional plot into it? I disliked Pearl Harbor for the same reason.
One more thing:
Movie run time, ~3.5 hours.
Time it took the real Titanic to sink, <2 hours.

It was a great movie. I liked the fact that it was true to history as far as the opulence of first class, and the contrast to the steerage classes. The romance and the plot was good, it added in many sub-stories, otherwise it would have been too predictable (after all, we knew the boat was going to sink). Kathy Bates was wonderful as Molly Brown (real person). It was a well done movie.

Eh, it was a pretty good movie... Must admit I'm not a huge Dicaprio fan... I think it had it's moments... though the second half was much better. Great special effects for its time too. Excellent soundtrack.
-Also, people, when you watch a movie Pay Attention!!!! The poor guy DID try to fit on the door in the end and it didn't work!

I will say this, Titanic was a huge film. It was perfectly cast.
More importantly, women connected to this movie in ways I can't even explain. Men should study it, definitely. :-)
All of the girls loved Leonardo DiCaprio in that movie, and Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On" combined to be an unstoppable force.
The plot and dialog wasn't very good -- "You see people, Jack!" Give me a break. Hollywood tried to cash in on the formula of historical event + fictional love story (Pearl Harbor, for example) but nothing ever came close.

I didn't like the movie. If the guy had lived it might have been okay. It was just too sad and depressing and WHY did the old lady throw the jewel into the sea??? she could have given it to her grand daughter or the guy who found the ship or anybody!!
The documentary on finding the titanic was great. Too bad it wasn't shown on the big screen.

Rose was a liar. She promised never to let go and like the thingy she was floating on was big enough for the both of them but NOOO, she let the love of her life freeze to death in the middle of the ocean. Other than that, I loved the movie. The feelings of what really happened on Titanic were portrayed very well.

It was a bore. I counted ceiling tiles and sprinklers. 3 hours of my life that I can't get back.
I liked the first Titanic with Clifton Webb and Barbara Stanwyck. Had a better plot to it

I thought it was okay, not a masterpiece by any stretch, and No I did not have a problem with the young girl cursing it was a movie and her parents allowed it. and now she is a huge star. A movie does not portray who this little girl is in real life, so calm down its Entertainment

They did an amazing job recreating most of the parts of the ship/wardrobes and such. I loved Kathy Bates as the "Unsinkable" Molly Brown. Kate and Leo were cute together.

I wish they'd have put a man in it, instead of that boy, what's his name, di craprio. It would have been much better. The love story would have been believable and not a lesbian love story as it was.
Hello, Sir J, the water was BELOW FREEZING. (yes, salt water gets below freezing because it contains SALT) LOOK IT UP. You hold on to someone while your freezing to death.
