Does anyone else love Eckstein. He has to be the most annoying batter of all time. He fouls every pitch off everyime until he gets one perfect and hits it.

Tonight: Bottom of 10th there was one out, tied 1-1. Eckstein up. Hits it, shortstop gets it, throws it to first. Eckstein safe on an infield single. Rodriguez up, hits it, grounds it to shortstop around second, eckstein starts running toward second. He realizes it will be a double play to end the inning, so starts running back to first and blocks Nomar's view (trying to get hit with the throw so he would be safe). Nomar misses and Eckstein tags up and goes to second. Rolen doubles, Eckstein scores.

Super shortstop - very underrated. He hits for average and will drive the opposing pitcher nuts. Won't hit a lot of home runs, but he's the type of player that makes a team good and a good team great. I have him on both of my fantasy baseball teams again this year and he's doing quite well, thank you.

Eckstein isn't a bad player, but he gets way too much love from sportswriters. The media, as a group, loves tough-nosed guys like Eckstein, Darin Erstad, and others - usually white guys, for whatever that's worth.

Anyway, Eckstein is a decent player, but it's annoying when I hear an announcer call him the "key" to the Cardinals. I'm not sure if that makes the announcer ignorant or just plain stupid, but I'm pretty sure that I'd rather lose a "key" like Eckstein than a guy like Albert Pujols.

It was a line drive to short, Eckstein made a base running error, he broke towards second rather than make sure the ball went through..In the scramble to get back to first, that was where the smart part of the play came in..Rolen blooped a single to center to drive in the winning run..

Eckstein: makes the "all there is no way these guys are on steroids team" ...
