This may sound corny, but my 15 minutes of fame would be in teaching kids, probably coaching them in a sport - but really more than that teaching them to be good sports, how t oplay the right way and be respectful. If someone I coached or taught ever brought me up as an example in a speech, that would be my ideal.
Actually, that would be close to my ideal - the ideal would be to have one of my son's thank me for helping them be sucessful.
Edited to add: As I thought about this, my answer has changed markedly from what it was 10 years ago. 10 years ago, I had hoped that my 15 minutes of fame would be associated with doing something in the political arena. Even if it was in my small town. However, I have seen too many good people from both sides of the political aisle just get vilified and beaten up by the opposition even on the township level. As I watched that, I decided that I did not want to put my family through that nonsense.

i value my privacy, so i'd want my 15 minutes to have some commercial time built in :)
the only thing i want to be famous for is being there for someone who needs me. a helping hand, a word of support, a shoulder if needed. these things don't lend themselves well to fame, but they DO work just fine for consistency and reliability.
if there were one event i would like to share, you know it would be an autumn afternoon when two souls became one... something that was 'planned' a long long time ago, yet only recently realized.

Taking time out from a busy and stressful life to help children, build homes for the needy, Boys and Girls clubs? I'm not the egotistical and self-promoting type. It's all about helping build toward a hopeful future.

I would like my 15 minutes to consist of me accepting a very large prizewinning check. Then I could fade happily into anonymity.

I would hope that it wouldn't be something embarrassing, like sneezing on a world leader or something.
If I got to choose, I'd like it to be for something heroic, like saving a schoolbus full of kids.
