No, Toot, gas is not going to go to $4.50 tomorrow or or next week or next month.
But, it could peak at $4.50 or even tap a little higher in 2007 or 2008 depending on a snakepit of international problems from Lebanon to the Sea of Japan. "no one knows" where that peak of the decade is or when it will be.

Look on the bright side! I am not going to let the gas price go up sky-high and we need to do something about this disastrous event involving the gas prices going up so high, it will cost Americans an arm and a leg to afford it. My idea is that I will able to lower the gas price down to $2 a gallon and I shall let the gas price to stay that way!

No, not tomorrow. However, if things escalate, and turn really bad, the middle east could impose a trade embargo like they did, in '73 (i think)....Back then people could only buy gas 1 time a week and they could only purchase 10 gallons. Analysts predict if that happened now, we would be looking at 9 dollars a gallon. I live in California, I'm paying 3.35 a gallon now.

Damn $4.50? You in California or sumthing. Hear in NYC, it's like $3.40. But, no matter where you are, gas prices are definetely going to increase because of the crisis in the middle east.

The real question should be...when the hell is the government going to come up with alternative fuel?
When...when whoever gets elected into the office of President of the United States is not involved in the very lucrative oil industry and/or not beholding to huge oil interests.
Until then...

I hope so. I hope it goes up to 6-7 dollars a gallon. Then maybe we will start conserving our natural resources, and start exploring alternate energy sources so that we are not dependent on the Middle East.

Just wait till the next major hurricane, or terrorist attack, or an attack on Iran. $4.50 will look cheap!
