the reason i started listening to country music was to get away from that hip hop crap. give me some toby kieth or some waylon jennings any day!!!

Oh yeah. There should be a sub category for that style of music(<-- for lack of a better word) because it dang sure isn't country! It is a black eye to the title of country music. Go Dwight Yoakam and Willie Nelson!!

Keith Urban and Rascal Flatts aren't ruining Country music. They are just adding diversity and style to a overrated bland music genre. Just because hip hop musicians don't wear big buckles, tight a$$ jeans, with steel toe boots and whine about their affair with their first cousin doesn't make it crap.

I like the old stuff, but I dont think that Keith or Rascal Flatts sound pop, Keith Urban is my favorite male artist. You wanna hear country that should be somethin else look at Big and Rich.

Isnt it called "progressive country" anyway?True country was born just that..not blues..The oldies are the best of the best..it has progressed over the decades but most still have the roots of country intact..The newest sounds seem to be leaning towards the younger generation and its understandable for the money involved in the industry..From Hank Williams,Gene Autry to Toby Keith and Reba Macintire..and all in between..country will always be present in society..yeehaw!

In Jazz there is "bebop", "cool", "avante garde", "fusion", "big band", "smooth", etc.
In Blues there is "delta blues", "urban blues", etc.
In Rock there is "blues rock", "country rock", "hard rock", "heavy metal", "soft rock", "alternative rock", etc.
Can't there be a lot of variety in country? Theres "bluegrass", "western swing", "country rock", etc. Keith Urban and Rascal Flatts is just another style. Listen to the other styles.

i does not evaluate Taylor rapid, Keith city, or Darius Rucker genuine u . s . singers. in my opinion, i'm a brilliant Rascal Flatts fan, yet i think of like George Strait, Tim McGraw, and hint Adkins genuine u . s . music singers.

keith urban&rascall flatts are probaly the most popular country artists of today..

i dont think that they are ruining it, but you have be more open minded to allowing a little modernization. i would recommend that you listen to classic hip hop and some blues. where do you think country music comes from? mars?
