Under file type it says file.What kind of file is that? Can i still open it somehow?

you have to open my computer, click on tools. folder options, and then look down the lisk and unmark hide files extensions. then you can see what extension it is, and what will open it

did you try ascoiating it with a different file name or right click and hit open with and select a program. I just searched for *.file and it came up as an ibm file try it you see and maybe be able to open it.

besure that ur file has atrue file extention
it should be like this: name.jpg
if it hasn't rename it and add this at the end of it .jpg
and then open it with windows picture and fax viewer

try holding shift while you right click the file. select "open with" and try using your picture programs, photo shop or whatever, explorer, or paint
