Yes: lots of cultural places to visit *So Fla* and tons of great clubs nightlife *Miami, South Beach, The Keys*, Bush Gardens, Universal, Disney World.....

Bad: humidity, heat, hurricanes, grass actually hurts your feet until you get used to it and of course palmetto bugs the size of Buicks

Depends where. I live in the gables which is lovely and not like the rest of Miami, no no gigantic bugs, and we always get the lamer side of hurricanes so the worst of it is being without power for a few days. I personally want to get the hell out of here and move to New York, but not because South Florida isnt a lovely place to live.

It's good and bad just like any place. It's really hot right now so it's difficult to enjoy it in the summer. Winter is absolutely wonderful though, I remind myself that 6-7 months of what most people would compare to spring up north is why I live here. It is getting really crowded, but I guess that's like everywhere else. I would say for the most part that it is OK. The beaches are nice. If you have kids, the school system is a problem, but as long as you are involved with their education, they won't get lost in the system. Overall, I give it a 7.5 :))

Florida is a nice place to live because the weather is nice and warm. And there are attractions like Disney World. It is also the 4th most popular U.S. state. Why would people live there if it's not nice?

THEY HAD 7 HURRICANE'S LAST YEAR ALONE ! In the winter it's nice to get away from cold weather & go to Florida but the people that run the shops are so rude to the "snow birds". Summer time you bake in scorching heat !
Florida is nice place to visit but wouldn't want to live there. My cousin lives in Boca Raton & one of the hurricane's blew out his front room window & flooded his front room.

HOt as hell, lots of traffic in Orlando. It's beautiful here and there is not much crime. Two things when you move to Florida... a car with a/c and apartments come with central air which is not bad. I love Miami though!

For Fort Lauderdale:

The yesses:
Day trips include Orlando (Disney, Universal, Seaworld), Tampa (Bush Gardens), Kennedy Space Center, Miami, the Keys (including Key West), West Palm Beach, the Bahamas, and all the local attractions.
Great weather all year.
Great diversity, great food all over

The nos:
Hurricane Season (not fun waiting out a major hurricane!)
No watrer is safe. Fresh water has gators and boas. Salt water might have crocodiles, jellyfih, and sharks.
Fireants, scorpions, and killer bees will hunt you down.
Horriffic tourist drivers!

What part of Flordia are you looking at?

I just got back from Melbourne, which is near Cape Canerval and Cocoa Beach, and we had delightful weather.
Do you like hot weather?
Will you have to work there? The living is pretty laid back if you like the weather and flatness, and the seafood is delectable.
