As a matter in fact, they could be. In this country our fuel taxes are inadequate to cover the costs that the government must invest in roadway and environmental mitigation.

Gas, as in Europe, should be more reflective of overall impact.

And as a matter of comparison - water, milk, and coffee are all more expensive than gas. And gas has the highest refining and transportation costs of all of those by a long shot.

They're not too bad compared to the rest of the world.

As of last year, we average $2.30 a gallon.
The Netherlands have prices at $6.21 a gallon.
But then Venezuela only has $0.12 a gallon gas.
At least our gas is still cheaper than Europe's

See the link to the chart below for more international gas prices.

They say that the price will go beyond $3.00 before the end of summer. I get sick of people saying that Europe has been higher for a long time. Don't the dummys know that in Europe the buy gas by liters?

Yes, and they will get higher. The Middle East is on fire (figuratively speaking) and our government is beholden unto oil companies. It will get worse.

Some have noted that gas prices are higher elsewhere, like in Europe. The difference, however, is that their gas prices have remained relatively stable over the past few years, compared ours, which are triple.

Yes, gas prices are going to get higher. A lot higher. Thank you, Mr. Bu$h for de-stabilizing the oil market.

Yes they can be a lot higher. In England, the cost of a gallon of gas is over $6.00. Of course they sell it by the liter over there, but after you do the math, it's over $6.00 a gallon.

You have it cheap. In Ontario, Canada we are paying approximately $1.10 per litre ( 5 litres is the same as 1 U. S. gallon. We are paying $5.50 for one of your gallons. Don't complain.

Its time to overthrow the Government. This is how the Revelation War got started. By price gouging us.

Last time I checked, they were $2.85 here but expect a jump in prices with the war going on in the east.
