If I want to get a tattoo and my mom doesnt want me to where should I get it at?

Ok, this is my first time on yahoo answers, so I guess I'll jump right in.

I have one behind the top part of my ear. This works for me because my ears don't stick out, I wear glasses, and it's once in a blue moon that I have my hair up.
I got it about half a year ago and my parents have no idea (they most definitely would not want me to get one, that's for sure). It's good to get it in a place that even you can't see it, just so you don't get sick of it. Also, for the love of god, make sure you are confident in what you want inked, okay?


ps: Personally, I can't help but think a tattoo on the lower back is trashy (there's a reason they call it a "tramp stamp.") A tattoo on your shoulder blade will eventually become apparent, so maybe that's a nono. I guess really low on your waist, near your pelvic bones would work. That's a really visible spot, so if I were you, I'd be super cautious in what I pick. Make sure it's simple... you don't want to ruin a good thing by slapping some scribbles on it, if you like your body, that is. If you don't...then yeah, distract the eye.
Don't compromise and get one where you don't want one, just because you can get away with it.

I think instead of sneaking around you should just ask her why she doesn't want you to get one. Is it because of religious reasons, your age or because she sees them as something only "bad" people have? Whatever her reason you should have a rebuttal, a reason why you should be allowed to get one. Perhaps ask her to go with you to the tattoo parlor, talk with a tattooer and see that they are normal people too. Or have meet someone who has a lot of tattoos. She should see beyond the stereotype and see why you want one. And what is the reason you want one, is it because your friends have one because that isn't going to be a reason she'll warm up to. Give her a reason to want to let you, do research she'll at least be impressed with your resourcefulness and tenacity.

If you are below the age of consent, you should wait. I am not saying that it is bad to get a tattoo. But, any shop that would be willing to work on a minor without permission might cut other corners.

Are you and your Mom prone to seeing each other in the nude often? If yes, your hip is a good spot, where it would be under your underwear. If no, then the small of your back is a good spot, or a shoulder blade. I got mine on my ankle, so of corse they saw it, but they didn't freak too bad. good luck!

If you are under 18, wait till you are older ,and truly know if that is what you want. We tend to want things due to peer presure. Get it because you truly want it for you, and remember it is there for life. If you have to hide it, then it is not worth getting.

It depends on how much skin you show...like what kind of clothes do you wear??? But if i were you i would get on on my thigh or on my stomach..

depends on how big the tatoo will be.......if it is small get it on your upper thigh.......and just don't wear bikini bottoms...or if you want to get a large one get it on your back and don't wear tops that will reveal it
