Music is a great way of taking sad and depressed feelings away from you. It can clear your mind and make you feel much better. the opposite however can also happen if you listen to sad music it can make you feel depressed, sad and lonely.
How music makes you feel depends on the type of music you listen to.
There is also music therapy that helps people in feeling better with themselves and solving their problems. It works good with children.

Works for me. The song "Take it From Here" by Justin Timberlake just always, always makes my day. And listening to the spanish music station. I have NO CLUE what they are saying, but I can never stay upset while listening!

Yes, I believe so. It works for me. I just got finished with an hour of "therapy" -- listening to alot of cds. Although my neighbors probably wouldn't agree. I love music and couldn't live without it.

as a bit of trivia..since all those other answers are good....mozart was played during IQ tests and they found increased scores of over 10 points (on average) then when taken in silence
