There is a deeper meaning as to why I ask this question... I am thinking of the innocent people in countries where there is war.. Is it not by chance that we were born here instead of there? My heart is breaking for people who have done nothing wrong only to find they are is the midst of hate.

Yes it is completely by chance! it's not like some people are born in Africa cause they wanted to be born there, anyone who is born to two parents anywhere in the world is completely by chance!!

It is chance to be born in a certain country. However, to be born in the U.S., my ancestors had come over here and all eventually come together somehow. It was good fortune that things came together the way they did. My Dad's side is mostly Northerners and my Mom's side is mostly Southerners. Eventually the families crossed in Indiana when my parents met. So, see how much of a chance it was.

I'd have to say chance. I suppose I could have been born anywhere. My mom almost enlisted in the army as a nurse. Had she chosen that path I could have been born overseas and who knows what my life would be like now? Who knows if my life would even exsist...

No. My family immigrated to the USA from Scotland during WW2 and my brother and I are the first generation born here. It was all planned out.

No, because God knew us before we were even born. He knew where we were going to be, were we would live, and even what houses we would live in. He even knew what we would look like and also what we were going to have to go through our lives.
