thanx for a best but why? after gamma is wide mutational effect, but why is best ? None of the other emissions are as strong or as penetrating as gamma rays. but Why this is so I do-nut understand. Why is out there and of course the eternal question why deserves a more complete answer, you might and likely should discuss this with close associates before responding. the asked question was pure brilliant or just very lucky in a stochastic fashion.

I think gamma rays are the end of the line. I don't think cosmic rays (muons? tau neutrinos?) pack that kind of a punch.
