General rule of thumb is that older players struggle in the 2nd half of the season. Although his career #'s are similar from the first half to the second half one stat tells a story...
Games played pre all-star game (career) 842
Games played post all-star game (career) 545

Those are pretty telling stats and leads me to believe that he's fairly unreliable health-wise later in the year.

He will hit a little bit of a hot streak, but he's not going to be hot enough to carry the team. He is 34 now, older, heavier (260 pounds), hurt often with nagging injuries. He's a DH in left field. A good guy, but his days are numbered. Don't pick him up, find someone a little younger, even if the power potential isn't as great.

Don't waste your time with Floyd, unless you think you could use him as trade bait when he has a couple good games in a row. The Mets are great this year, but he's definately not.

He's discontent, out of shape, and getting older. If anything, he's more likely to play even worse down the stretch.
