Go to a bookstore and look for the book of Lemonaide. It's a book that lists all the pluses and minuses about a car. :)
The book is expensive, that's why you just go to like Chapters or something and look at it instead of buying it, because the book comes out every year or something.
It requires a little bit more effort than asking on Yahoo Answers, but trust me, it will be WORTH it in the long run.
If you don't know anything about cars, try to bring someone who knows a bit at least with you.

the first thing that i want you to keep in mind as you are making your decision. ford: stands for FOUND ON THE ROAD DEAD. i have had a couple of ford vehicles that are a nightmare if they get really old. my bank does not recommend buying a car more than seven years old, so you are safe there, then you have to find out how many miles it has on it. you dont want anything over 50,0000 mi.

Good: Yes, Reliable: Treat it Gently, and It will serve you well. Be especially careful about oil. Suspension is sensitive: hates potholes.
Doesn't float though ;-})

my mom had one and had a lot of problems with it luckily it was under warranty and they fixed it but it was still a pain for her to keep having to take it back to the dealer...but that being said for the price of the car (they r pretty cheap) they r decent because she still has it and its running!!....as far as the car its self goes i love the way they drive they feel good on the road but i guess you can tell that your self by test driving...also good on gas!!
