on a daily basis, i'd say the only thing you REALLY need to carry with you when you go out is your lipstick

for special events, yes for everything

Definitely! You should always carry a compact, lip color and gloss at the minimum. Trial sizes, like the freebies at department stores, are very convenient for making sure you have all the make up you will need, including fragrances. Just remember, a lady never freshens up in public so duck into the ladies room for any touch ups.

I carry all my makeup when I go out. I use Mary Kay and the makeup comes in a custom compact (3 eye colors, your blush, the eye applicator and blush brush, and your lipstick fit in it) and it's 3"5" so it fits nicely and you don't have to search through your purse for your stuff. At the min., if I don't take the compact, I take lipstick/gloss, blush and eyeliner, those are my "must-haves". You should carry what you have to have when you go out.

Maybe like a little powder and lipstick for touch ups. You don't wanna open up your purse and makeup just come falling out.

I do. I mean, I don't carry an excessive amount, but I bring enough for a quick touch-up. Make up is a good thing to have.

Yes but just be sure it's in a make-up bag so it doesn't spill out into your purse when it's hot!

Only take what you might need. I normally only bring powder, blush, and lip gloss. If you add a few touches of these throughout the day, you still look madeup (your eyes shouldn't really need touchups, it's not like your eyelids are sweating).

On a date bring your powder, lipstick, and lipgloss, the rest of your make-up shouldn't need reapplication. If you are going out for drinks with the girls, you really won't need to bring you powder.

Don't forget to take a lipstick/lipgloss, eye pencil, compact powder, a hair-brush and a facial cleansing cloth.
