Passion for fashion bet you can make a rhyme anytime..but seriously, Feel free to email me through Yahoo Answers if you have any questions on what I do to make money at home
(number1 thing) I sell items on the Internet, basically I sold extra items that I had around the house or I go to yard sales, flea markets, discount bins at my local stores, buy things from family and friends and resell the items on the Internet. I sell small items on a international "auction site" and larger items at a local "auction site.
(2) I have a website and a blog that makes me money, I just designed a website about something I know about and also the blog is related to my website. This took me the most amount of effort and time but started paying for themselves after about three months.
(3) I also make a little extra money by doing simple things like "reading emails", I spend about 1/2 to an hour a night doing this.
I will post some links that were helpful to me below.

Think of all your interests & ask yourself if any of those could be expanded into a business. Just keep in mind...what's your expertise? What are your interests? What could you imagine yourself doing?

By researching the prospect of starting your own business -- what it entails, what you need to know, helpful hints, etc -- you'll feel better prepared to take that plunge.

I found some book titles that are relevant to your specific question:

* 101 Internet Businesses You Can Start from Home by Susan Sweeney
* The Best Home Businesses for the 21st Century by Paul Edwards
* Selling Online: How to Become a Successful E-Commerce Merchant by Jim Carroll

First of all, be very careful about any online business offers. If you are going to check into them, setup a special, disposable email address for inquiries - most of the links for business ideas out there are just gathering email addresses to spam you. My wife made that mistake and within a year, we had to get rid of her email address because she was getting over 3000 spam emails a DAY, more than even the best anti-spam software could deal with.

Second, if you are a cake decorator, that's a good start. I know two women in the Denver area who make a decent supplemental income making cakes - they both started baking for friends and family, and branched out with referals. A third woman I know of started the same and finally opened her own bakery/cafe. A guy I know started out making candy and selling it, he now owns a catering service. You'll have to get the proper business license and permits, which vary from place to place, so if you haven't moved yet, look into where you are moving to first.

Any business you start will be unlikely to provide you with enough income at first, so make sure you either have a supplemental job, or enough income to live on for a year minimum.

Compared to offline businesses, the investment required to start an online business is minimal. A popular way of earning money on the internet is by providing information and services. This can be monetised by advertising or charging a subscription. You can also make money online by selling products on auction websites like eBay or through your own website. Now that you are a free woman take advantage of the skills you have, and start your business. With no kids to tie you down at the moment you have the time to put into it.As a person in marketing i will tell you this there is no fast road to riches you have to work hard for your money and it takes time to build a home business in marketing. But for you it could be alittle driffernt, because you have already a skill that you can market. You said you are a cake decorator, take that skill build a website and advertise your business and if you have tips to help others add that to your site,or start teaching others on your site as well. If you have recipes make an e book of them and sell that to. there are many things you could add to that site that could make you money and link your page to others that are doing things that match what you are selling. Its like linking up to betty crocker and in return betty crocker would link you to her site. You can get free web templates on line to build your web page, some of them are pretty good. One word of advice don't over crowd your site with alot of other links it makes them junkie and you could lose sells. Beware of scams there are alot of sharks out there, don't jump on the first thing you look at make sure you check them out before you make a deal.If you don't feel like you can build the web page your self the are places that will do that for you, but like i said becareful where you buy,If you would like other ideals to help you with what could work on the web feel free to contact me through yahoo answers. I've been where you are with kids,so if i can give you any help at all let me know i may not have the answer but i can try to find it for you. I wish you lots of luck you can succeed.

The Internet is filled with "Work at Home" business opportunities. Your local newspaper is plastered with advertisements for home business opportunities. You turn on your radio to hear another testimonial of how a person who was in debt became a multi-millionaire overnight. You watch TV late at night and see numerous opportunities about getting rich quickly.

The notion of working from home really starts to peek your interest. You have resisted starting your own home business for a variety of reasons, but you can no longer resist the incentive of easy money, especially when your stuck in traffic or your boss has you working on another mindless report, you think "Hey! It's time for me to find happiness and financial success through a Work at Home business! How do I start?"

The good news is that a home based business can be very lucrative. You can set your own hours which gives you the flexibility to spend time with your children. Plus, the profits are virtually limitless as long as you put forth the effort in a well informed manner. Jumping into a home based business can be the best life choice you have ever made. I know it was the best decision I ever made!

Home based businesses come in a variety of forms from stock investing to Internet marketing. You could create an online home based business built around what you are passionate about. This is where you need to be careful - while you are passionate about your business you need to be level headed about the way you go about starting your business. Why? The sad truth is that many of the "Work at Home" opportunities you see on the on the internet, TV, newspaper, and hear on the radio are scams. Scams that will take your MONEY!

As honest people, we expect other people to be honest and have our best interests at heart. This couldn't be farther from the truth for many of these programs. The fraudulent businesses prey upon our emotions and drain our bank account. I know people that have lost their precious savings because of poor judgment. Don't let this happen to you!

When I started a Work at Home business I decided that I was going to investigate several different programs and companies to root out the legitimate businesses (yes, there definitely are many legitimate businesses!) from the fraudulent ones. My findings shocked me, but I did find a solution. The solution has made me thousands of dollars in profits and has made me financially secure for the past 10 years.

My research included experimenting with hundreds of "Work at Home" programs. I made contact with opportunities through their websites. I scoured the Internet to find as many bizopps as possible. I pretended that I was interested in becoming part of their program. This didn't catch their attention right away so I tried a more extreme tactic. I explained that I was interested in actually buying their business entirely. Wow! Did that bring a reaction! Suddenly they were interested in talking to me and allowed me to review their website inside and out. (You could never get access like this just by joining their site.) This allowed me to investigate whether the opportunity was legitimate or a scam.

I was dismayed at the number of programs that had poor business models, out-dated information, broken links on their website, almost no customer support, and no chance of ever making a dime. If I had paid for this program I would have been devastated to find this lack of resources and definitely wouldn't be able to rake in the big money like they claimed.

The owners of these businesses didn't care that their programs were lacking because they already had your money. They had taken advantage of thousands of people just like us.

Here's the positive side: Not all "Work at Home" businesses are scams. Well, I've done the investigative work for you to find the BEST opportunities and I proudly present them on my website. These businesses are not only legitimate, but WILL be extremely profitable for you if you put forth the effort and time. I found this sources by contacting many happy clients that will attest to the benefits of the programs. Testimonials for these programs were not fabricated. They truly believe in the programs they have chosen.

What criteria do I look for to determine if an opportunity is legitimate?

* Does the business provide a legitimate product or products that consumer will actually use?
* Does the business have reliable and easy access to customer support?
* Does the business have longevity?
* Does the business provide extensive free training and resources to help you get started fast?
* Does the business pay on-time?
* Does the business provide clear, consice information about all aspects of the opportunity?

The conclusion of my research has resulted in my highest recommendation for the opportunities listed at:

http://make-money-online.work-at-home-business.com

Most of them provide a free trial, but will be charged a minimal fee if you want to truly earn a big income, but it is well worth it. I get a little discouraged at the negative press that claims a business is a scam if it costs money. If you think about it, this is a ridiculous statement. Who has ever succeeded in business without a monetary investment? The advantage to the above is that the monetary investment is small compared to most business start-up costs.

I hope that I have helped set you on the right course to a profitable home based business.
