Many reasons for sore heels. Improper fit of shoes. Old worn out shoes with no support. Sports that require impact on feet. Jogging on hard surfaces, friction from interior of shoe etc.
If you have heel spurs, they are like glass fragments. Special heel cups to insert into a closed in shoe, are available. This would take the presssure off of the glass like spurs.

Cold packs, elevation, and see a Doctor for guidelines and care.
Epsom salt soaks (warm water). Happy trails...

have your b/f or husband massage them for you...if you have neither soak them in Epsom salt
