Your kidneys will not explode but it will become uncomfortable it is better to go when you have the need. Your bladder can hold 500ml or half a litre I don't know the conversion to whatever you guys use as I am from Australia. You will get the urge at about 200ml but can safely hold that until you reach a toilet. The worst thing that will happen is you sphincter will ignore the signals to stay closed and you will have no control and will Pee yourself.

I agree with your first answer. Always try to empty your bladder when you get the urge. Also, the #1 cause of bladder infections in women is drinking too many sodas. The carbonated water is really rough on a woman's bladder and kidneys. So if you're a "coke-a-holic" you may want to start drinking it with ice, or getting fountain drinks. The best thing to do is to either not drink carbonated drinks, or at least reduce the amount of them. Best of luck to you.........

if you are relating to your bladder, it can be harmful if you wait to long because of bacteria build up

you can get a urinary tract infection...but thats it.
