Yeah but those games mean nothing.
The Celtics have not been much of a factor since Danny Ainge took over. I hope I'm wrong, but his moves over the past few years have left a lot of C's fans scratching our heads and wanting his on a silver platter.
With all the winning the Red Sox and Patriots have done over the past few years the Bruins and Celtics got ignored for the most part but we have gotten use to them winning and making the playoffs, as sixteen teams make the basketball and hockey playoffs, not to be much of a stretch in 30 team leagues.
The Bruins free pass in this town ended when the Sox won the World Series in 2004, they have been a joke from the front office down.
Atleast with the Celtics they look to be building towards the future either by getting some cap room or stocking up on younger players and giving them a chance to develop.

The Boston Celtics will not go deep into the playoffs this season. They are a pretty young team and their inexperience will catch up to them. They won't get Allen Iverson so it will be up to Paul Pierce once again to carry the team on his back. Wally Szerbiak is a shakey player and the Celtics will never go deep in the playoffs with Danny Ainge making the moves. The Celtics might sneak into the playoffs, but they will be one round and out.

Summer league? Thas a good predictor lol.Why would they even get to the playoffs? What have they done special this off-season? You telling me Telfair is gonna turn that team around? In any sports the teams with the best preseason or summer league records are usually the ones who come in last in the real season. Honestly how many real nba starters play in summer league? U should first be asking if they are going to make the playoffs.

summer league?
here is who teams usually have playing for them in summer league:
rookies
sophmores
D-league players
and some teams pay bad free agents who no nba team wants or an undrafted free agents rookies to play for them in summer league.
outta those the celtics have the best core of YOUNG talent. thats why they are doing so well. telfair, green, jefferson and others (heres their summer league roster: http://www.nba.com/celtics/summerleague/roster-2006.html) are great prospects and solid players with great potential to be stars. but beating up on the Bryan Hopkins and the Yakhouba Diawara of this world doesnt make u a good team. plus, they finished 3-2 in vegas which is not that amazing considering how many good prospects they got. taking those prospects and puting them with with pierce and a couple of vetrans wont help u beat the lebrons wades and kobes of this world. point is that the celtics got a great core of young players and they have a superstar to build around in pierce but there is not a chance they canmake the playoffs with this roster this season unless the basketball gods come and give all the prospects a boost to the top of their potential. in a division where each team has the potential to beat up on u u got no chance. i mean, NJ is good (we all know that), philly is still got AI (and no... celts are not getting ai just because the phillys want things that the celts are not willing to give), toronto is much much improved, and heck even NY has some good overpaid talent(i mean they got a bunch of overpayed but good players in starbury francis curry crawford rose and frye but no team chemistry what so ever!). what dot he celts got except pierce and maybe sczerbiak to help them beat those teams and others? nothing.celts got a good future but not this season!

Although the celtics have a much better team than last year, they still do not have a solid big man in the middle. Paul Pierce can only do so much. Look for gerald green and bassy to step it up this year though

it depends who is at shooting guard if its A.I. then Boston will have a good regular season but a disappointing playoffs.
If its jarrod jefferies the Celtics will make a deep playoff run. maybe get to the finals.

They are a playoff contender but right now it's too early to say that they're going to get past the 1st round if they make the playoffs.

i wish they would, but i doubt it. the east is getting a lot more competitive. the summer league doesnt mean much. the stars dont play. its just for younger players to get more experience
