hello

i have recently downloaded a film which took me one week to download... its extension is .avi... when u rite click its properties, the file's size is about 724mb, but when using nero to transfer it whether on cdr or dvd+r, it asks me to put a disc with more space or 1 with higher capacity...(828MB), because when encoding the .avi to the cdr (80mins) or dvd+r (mpeg i supose).

in that case do you think i'll need a cdr or dvd+r of 90 mins...

please help me burn the .avi onto cdr or dvd+r

thanking you in advance

nadjmal

Hey, if you can burn to dvd, you have no problem; all of this cd rhetoric is meaningless.

Please ignore the DOLT who claims avis can't be burned to dvds (that will be playable on a standalone dvd player) with Nero. Well, maybe the person just has a crippled OEM version or something. In that case, I apologize for calling that person a dolt.

However, it is true the avi will need to get *converted*. The key app in Nero is "Nero Vision"; however, this app is only available in Nero 6-7. If your app falls under both of these criteria (either 6-7, has Nero Vision), I've created a simple, illustrated guide on how to do what you're trying to do here (on that forum, I'm known as "corypolo"): http://forums.torrentportal.com/ftopic7565.html

If you have any follow up questions, write me.

if you are looking to burn to cd or dvd to watch in a home dvd player i dont think it'll work. the bog standard players hook up to your tv dont understand the avi format and as such will continue to try and load it to no avail!
nero has a programme that will transfer it or digitally encrypt it to burn to a cd but you will have to watch it on pc media player of some description or another!

Seems it should fit an a DVD.
Also, can you convert it to mpeg or wmv so it'll be compressed?
