You're kidding, right? It's not physically or psychologically possible for a 1 year old to get depressed. Not possible at all. Please say you're joking. If you're not... YOU need to seek help.

Five questions for you?
1) Is the baby fed on a regular basis?
2) Do you give him enough to eat at each feeding?
3) Do you feed him quality baby food?
4) Is his diaper clean?
5) Does he get enough sleep?
I'm asking these questions because I'm just not understanding how a baby-child could be so depressed?
One last question:
1) Are YOU depressed and maybe he's feeding off of YOU?
If this is the case, you MUST get some help...TODAY!
Ain't no need in making your child depresssed just because of your inablility to cope.
There are doctors out there who can prescribe meds (for YOU) to take to help YOU get a grip on life.
And for the sake of that child, please do not drown him in the bathtub.
Let him live! Let him live! Let him live!!!

I do not see how a 1 year old child can be depressed.

Depression is a very lonely, frustrating and soul-destroying condition that requires alot of support.

Do you sit down and play with your child and laugh and make silly faces!?
Maybe it's deeper than this...something traumatizing.
Children are so innocent and happy and cheerful...depression usually comes from a feeling of sadness...why would a 1 year old be sad

I think you need something. There is no way a one year old can be depressed. Maybe if you spend some quality time with him or her they may actually smile. I can't believe you are asking this stupid question. Any parent who says there infant is depressed and is considering medication for them, then that child is in real danger by that parent and should be removed from the home. PERMANENTLY!!!!!!!

For heaven sakes if your child is displaying symptoms of you percieve to be depression this could or is a serious health problem or diease. Havent you taken him to a pediatrican. If a child is is listless or inattentive or not doing what normal one years do for heaven sake take him to a doctor the baby could have any number of disorders including autism etc. If the baby has been getting its regular infant shots and checkups why hasnt this been noticed? Or it may be just as serious maybe you have Munchausens diease.

Hello, I don't for one second think that your one year old is depressed. Are you sure that your child isn't hitting the terrible two's?? My kids all seemed to start that at around one also. You most definitely should not give un-prescribed medication to a baby. Maybe you should see the doctor!

A one year old cant be depressed. Youre being silly. Youre overreacting. How is he acting to make you think that? crying all the time probably means he's physically ill, not playing could mean the same thing, hes not feeling good physically. Depression is not it dear.
