ASUS is a better motherboard than MSI also if your motherboard has an Intel chipset they are better than the VIA ones. When you get the motherboard run 3DMark 2005 to test the performance of your new system.

ASUS are almost always a reliable choice. If your not overclocking like I noticed one member above referred to, then you should be fine. Overclocking is for experts anyway, so unless you are a god of the silicon world and want to venture down that path, then an ASUS motherboard is an excellent choice. Just make sure it fits the case you want to put it in, and it supports the components that you desire. If you need good suggestions for models, you can contact me as I am a professional builder. Hope this helps, good luck.

What is your knowledge and experience level working on computers. Your question seemed open ended as there are lots of other components to consider other than just the motherboard. I've had Asus and other brand mobos. They're pretty much the same although you only get what you pay for.

Intel motherboards are the best with a 3 year warranty good instructions and great tech service. They are not cheap but worth the extra cash

i dont like ASUS its crap Ive used that MB on 3 of my servers and clocked them out and after a good 6 months 2 of them just died on me and it ain't worth it but i will say this MSI has done the same but not as many times as ASUS, bottom line is that ASUS is dirt cheap and if its cheap 99% of the time it ain't worth buying, but besides that if you wanna just do work on your pc and no serious games that are gonna scarf down your memory and processor then buy any mother board you want, since 9 times out of 10 they will last a longer time than if you clock it out every day,
