Everytime you set up your mind to utter these 3 simple words to somebody you love, something deeper inside stalls it causing severe burden, so overwhelming that silence overpowers verbal ability. Is there a methodology to overcome this shortcoming (immense sorrow), if at all it is? Is this shortcoming a consequence of fear of losing or it a sign of true love ?

I don't know... I think it's a sign you may not believe what you're saying. If you truly, really love a person, then saying it is not hard at all. The real question is, why do you feel something deeper inside preventing you from saying "I love you" to a person?
That's what you need to find out. If you have loved deeply and are loved in return, then there are no overpowering burdens or stalls, because everything in your mind, body and soul is in agreement. When something doesn't agree, this is when you may stutter.

Typically a fear of losing is what causes people to say it too much and become clingy. What you may be feeling is a fear of rejection: fear that the person you love might not love you back the same way.

But... there's only one way to find out. If you believe it, really and truly, then go ahead and say it. This isn't the end of the world, no matter what you hear in reply!

I know it's hard. It's considered the most difficult thing to do because your feelings for that certain somebody are so great. What makes it difficult is that there will be a chance the person you're pining after will accept but there is an equal chance he/she will decline. I'm not too sure there is a "Method" to overcome the sorrow but there is a chance you will overcome it eventually. It could be a sign of true love. Believe in it. Maybe he/she would feel the same.

Vane how beautiful that poem is! And so very, very true. Why wait, just write it on a piece of paper if it's too hard to say. Somehow get her the message to her. Send flowers with a detailed note, something! Tomorrow is not promised, do it and do it NOW!

Some people who feel it find it very easy to say, others find it very difficult. I find it extremely difficult to the point that I almost never say it, and if I do its...well, its interesting. Some people I'm close to though can say it easier.

Unfamiliarity. It's like doing anything for the first time. It can be a bit tricky. But once you've done it, it becomes like second nature.

It shouldn't be, at the right moment, you both will now you love each other, and thats when you both say I love you, if it's hard to say I love you then it's not the right time or its not the right person.

It's a sign of being a blithering idiot. If you're that afraid to say "I love you" then you are with the wrong person, stupid!!!!

maybe unconsciously we think it will lose it's power if we say it outloud...like letting the air out of a balloon and it's no longer special...just a guess...

Because you're afraid that the response you get back won't be the same and if it isn't then you'll be majorly embarassed...
