Cramps are terrible. Over the counter drugs like Motrin or Tylenol work very well but always ask your parents before taking anything. A heating pad will work and if you do not have one, try a hot bath.

As for talking to your dad, that is normal but he understands about periods because he is married to a woman. It might be uncomfortable but you should try it. Your period is a normal and natural thing do not be embarrassed.

And for more drug information ask the pharmacist.

Medical Dictionaries consider Pain Relievers the same as Pain Killers, though those of us who use opiate painkillers in high quantities don't necessarily equate them with Pain Relief drugs. It depends on if you're looking for a formal definition comparison or a subjective evaluation.

Try Midol - its a medicine that helps with the bloating and the water weight gain which relieves most of the pain. You are wayyyy to young to take pain killers so dont do that. They are sooo addictive and can end up really hurting u. Try Midol or even Aleve! Good luck to u

there are lots of different products on the market
1) Pamperin
2) Mydol
3) Motrin
4) Advil
5) Tylenol
there's nothing wrong with talking to your dad, he might be able to help by picking up the product at the store for you...
you could also try a heating pad while you are home...

Midol is very good for cramps. But, if you do not have that take an Advil. Midol is better though it is quicker in relieving cramps v.s Advil. Try for Midol but, if not take Advil.

Try to put an ice pack and your abdomen and breathe slowly out and when you breathe in breathe fast and breathe slowly out. Also for additional relief you can buy a pint of ben and jerry's (preferably cookies and cream) and slowly nibble one spoonful at a time, you will forget that it is a nightmare to be a woman for a half hour or so then it is time for Taco Bell!
