I would like to wear makeup, and I am going into seventh grade, but my mom and I don't talk about, ya know, personal stuff. When I asked her earlier, she didn't take me seriously. What should I do?

Don't wear it. If God wanted you to wear it, he would have put it on you when you were created.

My mom would not let me wear makeup either. She said I could start when I was 20. I made a compromise with her. I told her I would wear mascara and lipgloss when I became 18 and shefinally agreed and promised to buy me a complete makeup set when I turned 20.
I know it"s tough to talk to your mom about these things, but she was once your age and probably went through the same things you are going through now.. Dont' t be afraid to talk to her about it Just do it at a time when you are sharing a meal or in the car together to get her full attention and break the ice.

Well first off you and your mom should talk about personal stuff because she's the best person to ask about anything personal.
Secondly, I know how badly you want to wear makeup but you really don't need much of it at all. You will ruin your skin and be stuck with pimples and they suck. I started wearing makeup when I was in 7th grade and I always looked like I had too much on, and then I started to get crazy pimples and it was horrrriblee!!!!
Ask her again, but stress the fact that you are serious. If she says no bargain with her. You don't need crazy amounts of makeup but ask her if you can wear like eyeshadow and lipgloss and stuff like that! =)

If you have a valid reason for having to wear makeup, like dark circles under your eyes or skin discoloration, then maybe she'll listen if she knows you feel self-conscious about it. At your age your hormones are taking control of your skin, so the most important thing is to keep it as clean as possible. Wearing makeup will only clog up your pores and worsen acne. Some people don't need to wear makeup; they have very good complexions and coloring. So, think about if you really have a need for makeup other than to just fit in, present that to her, and maybe she'll take you seriously.

Your mom is right and even though you may think I'm wrong trust me it's not going to matter if you wear makeup right now. I think girls your age are acting to old for who you really are. Wear makeup when you get to high school. Trust me it's not that big of a deal. And you know some guys don't like it when you wear makeup at such a young age. Makeup says I'm getting older or I'm old, so appreciate being young and having natural beauty. When people get older they don't take that into consideration. So enjoy being a kid because your still a child and children shouldn't wear makeup.

well, i started wearing makeup in the 7th grade. I believe that your mom should let you wear makeup, it wont hurt you, it'll just make u look pretty =)....my mom wouldn't let me wear makeup either, what i did was when i went to the store w/ my dad or friends, i would buy some eyeliner or mascara......and i would wear it anyways, if your mom says something like you are not allowed to wear that, stop wearing it. but she didn't take you seriously so maybe she will once she sees how good you are at puttin it on, if u want her to let you wear it, make SURE you dont make it too dark, make it light and pretty.

how about a compromise? Ask her if she would help you with a skin care regimen, you know, exfoliating, moisturizing, etc. You need to learn this before you start wearing make-up anyway. By the time you are out of eighth grade, you will have such beautiful skin, all the other girls will be envious of you. And Mom won't have a problem with it, as she knows that you have your priorities in the right place. Try it and see.

well 7th grade is big but i think that if your mom doesnt want you to wear makeup then dont i mean just talk to her about and if she says no its ok maybe you could wear really really light or something like that but before you do sit down and talk to your mom maybe your mom is just afraid of her little girl growing up you know so talk ok good luck! Wear makeup when you get to high school.

i didnt really start wearing make-up all the time till i was 19..there really isnt any rush, its so much better if you dont rush and wear so much make-up so early cuz its not really good for your skin, (i know it wont mean much to you now but people who wear makeup early get wrinkles at a younger age too!!) and its actually a waste of time cuz you spend so much time wearing it,and then having to remove it,if you really like the idea see if your mom will let you wear some on a day you want to go take some photos..

Seventh grade? That's a bit young to start wearing makeup. Maybe when eighth or ninth grade rolls around then your mom will relent.

I am gonna enter the ninth grade and my mom doesnt let me put makeup on either. she said i could start using makeup when i am 15. dont worry when you get into middle school, not all the girls wear makeup, youre not gonna be the only not wearing makeup, so dont feel bad. but still, maybe you can starta conversation with your mom, and somewhere in there ask her.
