Ha ha ha....my mom told me that one too! No...it's not true...it's the sound created when positive and negative ions get overcharged in the air....I think. But I KNOW it's not bowling.....Bowling would be in HELL, not heaven!

nope. Its caused by static electricity that forms in clouds. It heats the air, and when air is heated, it expands. It expands really quick and causes a sound that you hear as thunder. The light you see is lightning.
