Riding at high RPM's in a lower gear, or low RPM'S in a higher gear. Note: I ride a Suzuki SV650.

Low RPM's in a higher gear would definately burn less gas but you might damage the gears. The best thing to do in an SV650 is have it right about 4000-5000 rpm's no matter what gear you are in(unless you are going over 50 on the highway). More than that will definately burn more gas. Plus, you wont have to worry about damaging your gears.

The lower the RPM, the slower the motor goes. The slower the motor goes, the less gas is used.

Think a bit about your question. Anyone should know that the slower your engine runs, the more fuel efficient it tends to be.
