You can have spotting intermittently or even around the time that you would normally have a real period... and that's normal. Any bleeding heavier than a little spotting, and you should see a doctor immediately.

You can continue to ovulate while pregnant, though this is rare.

You can't get your "period" while you're pregnant because a menstrual cycle sheds the lining of blood that's built up in the uterus in anticipation of a baby. When your body is signalled that it's not pregnant, your body goes through the process of releasing it, hence a period. If you ARE pregnant, then your body keeps it because the baby needs it.

But you CAN spot during pregnancy. I'd check it out with a doctor because it can indicate an early sign of miscarriage and bedrest and staying off your feet might be recommended.

Yes, you can have your period while pregnant, but that is not normal for most people. If you have a period while pregnant, it is usually shorter, and should only happen during the first month or two of pregnancy. If this is happening, this may not be a period. In any case, you should probably see your doctor.

Spotting can be harmless or it could be a sign of something else. Check with your doctor to be sure.
