I moved to an apartment complex with no assigned parking so sometimes I might have to park it where I can't see it. There is nothing I can chain my bike to so I want to get something to secure it that works any suggestions?

As said before, they work ok if your bike is to heavy to lift, until you forget it's on and try to ride away with the lock still on.

They DO work but, as some of the other people have already told you, a couple of guys could just pick it up and load it into a pick-up truck and drive off. An audible alarm would be a step better but, honestly, how many times have you heard an alarm going off on someone's vehicle in the mall parking lot and NOBODY pays any attention to it ( only good if YOU hear your alarm go off ). The BEST solution is LO-JACK ( its available now for motorcycles ). The deterrent to stealing your bike is the fact that it WILL be found and FAST ( giving the thieves little or no time to "dispose" of the bike or "part it out" ). There's no exterior markings indicating that your bike has Lo-Jack and, it makes no sound so, the thieves won't even know th epolice are on the way until they are knocking on the door. It will prevent roll-aways, but a couple of guys can still lift it into the back of a pick-up and drive away. I have a Xena alarm disk lock that I use in parking lots like at the mall, but I would use a cable for anything less public or longer term. When I lived in an apartment I would cable lock (Kryponite is a great one) my bike to the carport support.

Get the round brake locks that fit through the rear disc, They'll have to pick it up and carry it off...LOL
