Apart from them often waking me up at the end of a good film I have probably been trying hard to stay awake till the end.
But you got CLOWNS screaming at you about CILIT BANG and BUY ONE GET ONE FREEEE!!! Aaaaaaaaaargh!!!

To get your attention. Get Sky+, then you can fast forward through adverts, excellent! I have no idea what people are selling or what needs cleaning any more!

I think it's because advertising company's assume that during the adverts most people go into the kitchen to get a snack or put the kettle on or something. So in order for them to get you to listen/watch the advert they put them on louder so that if you are away from the TV you will still hear it.
It drives me mad too, someone just has to say the words 'crazy frog' and the red mist descends, lol ;0)

They turn the volume up because they catch your attention easier. They also do this because most people turn the volume down on the TV when the adverts are on as they find them so irritating, so the loud volume brings the advert back to the normal TV volume

To grab your attention, most people leave the room on a break to make a cup of tea so by putting the ads on louder you might be able to hear them whilst you out the room getting your drink?!

It's because the music and voiceover sound for the Ads are recorded at a louder volume on different equipment whereas the programmes are made differently so sound would be quieter.

I mute as well. They (advertisers) assume that you are not paying attention and may even have left the room for a snack or bev so they crank up the volume.

i know what you mean i have big brother on quite loud cause i cant hear it and when the ads come on there so loud as lee evans says its so you can hear them whilst you go out and make a cuppa.

so you can here them from the kitchen, and the bathroom...
you know that is the time most people take their bathroom break or run to the kitchen for that snack.
