How do I get to the beaches in Galveston from Houston?

I'm looking for something fun to do.

Take Hwy I-45 South to Galveston, exit on 61 street, to get to the seawall the fastest.

Turn left at seawall blvd, to restaurants, turn right to go to vacant beaches

Take I-45 south towards Galveston, and keep on going straight through the lights, until you get to the Seawall, find a place to park and enjoy.

Go I-45 south. I recomend going to east beach, its kinda busy on the weekends but during the week, its totally deserted its awesome. I think you have to pay for parking i think thats weekends though.

Or you can just park along the seawall and go jump in the water! Have fun!

your best bet would be to find a beach other than galveston's. head to corpus or padre or better yet the west coast or florida. if you want fun in the water go to schliterrbahn or toobing in the hill country. texas beaches are just nasty.

You could walk, take a cab, have a friend give you a ride, take the bus, charter a chopper, hitchhike, steal a car, ride a bike, etc.
