1. Do the poles in strip clubs rotate or are they stationary?
2. How do the girls all seem to know all those crazy tricks? Does it just come natural or take hours of practice?

Just a curious woman wanting to know...!

The poles have to be anchored top and bottom to hold the girls weight. They are however cleaned and polished regularly to keep them shiny and tactile. You don't what them too slippery or some tricks become dangerous. And , they have to be anchored to the ceiling rods or boards and not just the sheet rock or tile. Normally, the pole enters into the tile or sheet rock through a hole creating a vent around the pole. It maintains the temperature of the pole a bit.

As for the tricks themselves they are taught those tricks and practice them with each other to get a better feel for the act. There are classes offered on the subject of pole dancing. As a matter of fact, one of the actresses from "A Night at the Blue Iguana" has a video and a class on the subject and how it can be used to lose weight and release your creativity.

And there is nothing wrong with wanting to know. Better to know something than nothing in case you are asked your opinion on anything. It helps you not to look foolish or prejudicial.

I don't know about the pole rotating, but in some clubs the stage rotates.

The girls get better with practice. Some of them drink or do drugs to loosen up, and be more willing to try the difficult tricks. Experience, and mentoring from the more talented also plays a role.

some of the poles rotate and some are stationary, I danced for many yrs pretty much all through my 20's
You just try tricks somedays, when I got really good I'd stay after work and teach the newer girls some tricks...or moves whatever so they'd make more money and look better on stage. It looks better when a club has a lot of good dancers. Then everyone makes money and everyone is happy!

I'm not a stripper, but go to a pretty risky club where I can act like one. The poles do not rotate... and when your feeling sexy... the moves will just come to you. I was dancing one night (for fun, on the pole) and a girl walked up and shoved some cash in my thigh high stockings. I framed that cash (like a business frames the first money it made...)... and my boyfriend and I laugh everytime we talk about it!!

The poles are stationary...having them rotate would be too dangerous.

Practice practice, and being a bit flexible definitely helps :)

Pole is in a fixed position.

Most of the moves are easy. A little practice helps.

My ex did this for a bit...

1. Yep they are stationary

2. It takes hours of practice and you need to be VERY fit and athletic to pull some stunts off and look good at the end. Most of the ladies that do this for a job are true professional dancers - that said you need some natural ability and a good poledancer can entertain for ages fully clothed.
