The most disturbing movie without a doubt is The Exocist because the idea is based on actual events that occured to a young boy in the 1960's and anything with the devil is just bloody well scary. The second most disturbing is The Hitcher it brings up all of our most basic fears and the scene with the hitcher traveling past the hero in the back of a stationwagon playing with two young kids and knowing what he is going to do is creepy. The third most disturbing is 8 MM with Nicholas Cage, the idea of snuff films and whether one would let themselves kill another individual out of justice for the victim and the victim's survivors gives one great pause.And if I could suggest for those who like disturbing films try Videodrome with James Woods and Deborah Harry, again it involves snuff films and will make you wonder what is real and what isn't.
