I got lost in the West African savannah once. I went on a bike trip with a peace corps friend, and we had really bad directions to the town we were going to. After 3 hours or so down a really badly beat up road that hadn't seen construction workers since the 1950s, we ran out of water. About an hour later we passed by a village. No one in the village spoke French or English, and we did not speak the local language, so we had to mime that we needed food and water. They welcomed us into the compound and fed us rice, beef, and water. Eventually someone's brother showed up who spoke French, so we were able to explain where we were going. He got on his bike and guided us to our destination. I then proceeded to take the best nap of my life, followed by a dip in a waterfall that seemed like it was at the end of the earth.

I went to work in Afghanstan to work for the Canadian military for a year and a half. It wasn't too dangerous in the camp but we did have some rocket attacks sometimes. We also had to take land mine training and I did see some. The whole time I lived in a tent and we had to check our beds for camel spiders. I got to go out sometime with the military to villages and orphanages which was so amazing to see. It was the adventure of a life time.

Ive had a few.
Last week I was hiking in the Canadian Rockies and found myself on a slopped trail on a ridge, high up on a mountain. If I fell off I'm not sure if i would have survived or not. The trail was covered with gritty gravel that can roll under the hard soul of a hiking boot and send you falling. I was afraid to even lock my knees.

When i had ruptured an artery while playin with my sis. She was running from me and went into this room and locked herself. The door had glass blocks in it. I pushed one so hard it shattered cutting my artery. blood was literally spurting out on the walls. Everyone was terrified except for my mom who kept cool until we got to the hospital. In the end it all worked out fine and i enjoyed the extra attention.
