There is the sun (which is the largest). And than there are the planets that revolve around it due to gravitational force. The sun in fact revolves around the center of the whole solar system too. (The center of the solar system is somewhere inside the sun if I am not mistaken)

My favorite hobby is Astronomy...and every nice, clear night I venture my way outdoors with my Celestron telescope...so I know a little about the way it "works". The Solar System is a vast and complex (yet also simplistic) "system" where the Sun is stationary and the 9 planets orbit "counter-clock-wise" it. Our Earth, once each year, makes one "orbit" around the Sun. But here's the real and "bottom-line-TRUTH": It is Christ, Who Created not merely the Solar System, but the entire "Universe", Who holds all things together and BY Whom "all things consist" (Colossians 1:17).

every object in the world has its own gravitational force, even you, or the keyboard you're using to type. Because the sun is so huge, it has a huge amount of gravity. It also has a centrifugal and centripetal force. Because of its centrifugal force, the planets gets pushed away from it. Because of the centripetal force, the planets are pulled toward it. These 2 forces cancel each other out and cause the planets to revolve around sun instead, since it cant go nearer or farther to it. Just like the earth and its moon.
